    Out of State Tax Returns

    the story is this: my son lives in Maryland, his income came from VA and Illinois, in the past he live in Iowa, I know we need part year residence forms, but which ones, IL-IA-MD or all three..thanking you in advance...jim s

    MD has reciprocity with VA. So, if he lived in MD and worked in VA it's possible MD income taxes were withheld and he would file a MD and IL return. If not, he needs to file in all three (MD, VA, IL).

      You state he lives in MD. If so, then he files a non resident IL return and takes a tax credit from IL to MD.
