    stimulus question

My mother was claimed as a dependent by my brother (for some ungodly reason, it should have been the other way around as far as i am concerned). Will this not qualify her for the stimulus rebate or does that only relate to dependent children. if it disqualifies her will my brother get the additional 300 for her. She really need it, in fact i only filed for her to get it she only makes 6k.

    $6,000 and a dependent?

Is that $6,000 taxable income or is that tax exempt (like social security benefits) income?

If the mother is claimed as a dependent, she cannot get the rebate. And the person who claimed her as a dependent can't get $300 for her because she is older than 16.
