    Residential Energy Credits

The Tax Book states that the Residential Energy Credits are good through 2008, however, I cannot find elsewhere that this is the case. Can someone confirm or deny that this is true?

    Thanks in advance!

Nonbusiness energy property (windows, doors, insulation, furnace, A/C) credit expires 12/31/07.

Residential energy efficient property - (geothermal, solar) I think expires 12/31/08

Water heaters with a tank were never allowed.

        Mixed bag

The credit for energy efficiency, such as insulation and more energy-efficient doors and windows, expired in 2007. This was the most common type. The credit for solar water, solar energy generation, and fuel cells goes one more year ... through 2008. Both types of credit are figured on F-5695.
