    Social Security-economic Stimulus Act

Hello, Trying to determine if Social Security Disablity benefits are eligible for the rebate for the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008. Have a mentally retarded individual with over $3,000 in SSDI benefits. This person is 29 years old. I thought the intent of the act was to include Social Security benefits for retired Individuals but I am hearing different and those Individuals who received a 1099SSA regardless of their age would qualify. Went to the IRS website and many others with no real definition of what Social Security benefits qualify to apply to file for the rebate (I know SSI benefits do not count). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Social Security benefits reported in box 5 of the 2007 Form 1099-SSA, which would have been received in January 2008.
