    Child Tax Credit

Has anyone DEFINITIVELY determined if a divorced parent can take the child tax credit for a child for whom they do not take the exemption? The parent taking the exemption makes too much $ to claim the credit so the other parent (whom the child actually lives with) would like to take it while still giving the exemption to the other parent.

No they cannot take the child tax credit if they did not claim the child as a dependent. That credit only goes to the person claiming the exemption. The parent the child lives with gets the EIC but no child tax credit.
