    Adoption Expenses for grandchild

    I don't see anything that would disqualify grandparents for adopting their grandchild for the adoption credit. I can take it, right?

      Credit is available

      A grandchild under the age of 18 is an eligible person for the adoption credit.

      If people adopt their own grandchild, does the child become both their child and their grandchild? Just wondering.

          Don't tell me that you are thinking about trying two exemptions for the same child. (Just kidding.)

          It reminds me of the old song "I'm my own grandpa."

          Only in government or politics is a "cut in spending" really an increase. It's just not as much of an increase as they wanted it to be, therefore a "cut".
