    Foreign Income Exclusion

Client was working as a civilian in a combat zone. He was injured in the combat zone. He returned here to the states to be treated and recover. He was here more than 30 days.

Will that disqualify him to take the exclusion? The IRS site says that sickness does not change the rule. But, I wonder since he was injured in the combat zone if that would allow him to not count those days here as being gone more than 30 days.

    Thanks

There is no exception to the time out of country. I had the same situation last year and the time must be met, an injury doesn't change it.

Thanks very much. I just wanted to make sure.
