Chairtable Deductions for Little Leauge Soccer

I have been hearing from several clients that they believe they can deduct the cost of uniforms if they coach a soccer league or little league baseball. They also feel they can deduct the cost of travel to these events as volunteer time as they are coaching. I can't find anything that supports this. Are these soccer and baseball leagues charitable organizations or is there another way they can be deducted?

If the league is a legitimate 501(c)(3) organization, contributions of property to it are deductible. Mileage to perform services for the organization is also deductible, at the standard mileage rate ... 14ยข per mile.

      Uniforms Little League

My experience has been that business pays for the cost of the uniforms, and the company's name is on the uniform.

I deduct thses as advertising expense.

In my neck of the woods these soccer clubs are big business and are mostly all 501c3 qualified orgs. They issue letters for tax deductible cash and non-cash contirbutions and some volunteers take the legit volunteer miles.
