    Cleaning Work/Reduced Rent

This has come up before. Renter does some cleaing work for the landlord and get reduced rent. On a prior post, it was determined that this work was taxable. Does the landlord issue a 1099 for the value of this work or does the renter do the "honorable thing" and report this on a schedule C?

    Barter

This is barter. If any 1099 is to be issued I would say it is the one that deals with barter.

How many dollars? In any case, the renter would not report on Sch C unless he is in this business.

        Residential rental owner is NOT
required to send 1099's. Read the 1099 instructions to verify.
