    Residency

Taxpayer (T) and spouse (S) files joint return for federal.

T = Res of Illinois. S = Res of Georgia

T = Stayed and worked in Illinois entire year
S = Stayed and worked in GA entire year

    (1) Federal return filing joint

    (2) Can "T" file as a residence of IL and S file as a res of Georgia?

    Thank you

Check those states rules, in my state a NonResident return would be filed to exclude the NR spouses' income from the return.
