From past posts I believe you said your husband is a union worker? Do you know if you can deduct mileage to Union meetings?

Not a temporary travel issue, but on the same premise as you can deduct union dues and expenses as an unreimbursed employee expense?

Yes, he is. I would think...

you could deduct the mileage, although I've never done it before. It wouldn't amount to a whole lot for us. I don't know if the whole "2nd job location" would come into play with this though. My husband usually comes home before he goes to the meetings that are held at the union hall (the meetings are usually at night). He'll shower and change and then drive back to town. Sometimes he goes straight to the hall after work if there's not enough time to come home first.

Any one else have thoughts on this matter?
