Do any of you know the where abouts of a spreadsheet, for calculating the value of contributed non cash items? I know there was one from the Salvation Army a few years ago.

I'll be darned...I've purchased tax tools for two years, never knew the worksheet was there.

I've used It's Deductible for many years. Now that it's been acquired by Intuit, it's not as good as it used to be. For example, it used to print a document to take to the charity listing the items without a value so you could get a signature. For some reason, it doesn't provide that any longer, but it's more expensive. I guess that figures.

It is free online, you don't have to purchase. I am not printing out for my clients, but using the high to low as a guideline for them. I am also referring the clients that have computers and usually a lot of non-cash donations to the website, having them log in and prepare their own.

Well, that's interesting. I think I've been paying $19.95 to $24.95 for many years. I suppose the free edition is to get people to use it and then buy TurboTax. It's still a helpful product, but not as good as before.

Thanks, I looked for a link after your post and found it. I did have a problem with the 2006 online version. For some reason, all of my information was lost. On my personal return, I used It's Deductible throughout the year for donations. Fortunately, I had printed the sheets to reconstruct but it was a PITA. I still use it, but miss the other features. But, it does have a much large database than the Tax Tools worksheet.

In Tax Tools, it's called Missing Information - Non-Cash Contributions Worksheet. No wonder it's hard to find! What a dumb title. I don't know why they felt it needed Missing Information as the lead.

It is a worksheet that you can print and provide to your clients, or you can fill in on the computer.
