Well it seems the rebate checks have passed.
I have clients asking how much they are going to get. Does anyone know who is going to get the money for the kids when the custodial parent signs the 8332 letting the noncustodial parent claim the kids as dependents?
My best guess tells me that the parent they live with is going to get the money. If that is not the case, there are going to be a lot of custodial parents upset with me that I informed that signing the 8332 for the noncustodial parent would cost them very little on their return.
Also we have "dependent of others" who have made more than $3000 that keep asking if they are eligible.
I really do not know the answer to these questions yet.
