Why no topical index?

I was very surprised to find no topical index at the rear of the taxbook, and a topical index referencing pubs instead. I find it much more difficult to locate topics quickly than QF. That's a disappointment. Why would the author's choose to exclude a topical index?

I was very surprised to find no topical index at the rear of the taxbook, and a topical index referencing pubs instead. I find it much more difficult to locate topics quickly than QF. That's a disappointment. Why would the author's choose to exclude a topical index?

I found the index. For some reason, I just didn't see the last pages. It could be that they are in the same color as the index to publications, or early senility.

A topical listing of IRS publications begins on page 25-6 of the Deluxe Edition. The index for the Deluxe Edition itself is at the end of the book, beginning after page 25-12.
