    Retirement Savers Credit After Divorce

    MFJ in 2006. Husband has distribution from 401K. Divorced in 2007. Does exwife have to report exhusband's distribution on Form 8880 on her 2007 return. Thanks for any help.

          Yes if they filed a joint return in the year the distribution was received (TTB, page 11-7). If they had filed separate returns in 2006, then her 2007 separate return would not have to report her husband's distribution.
