Had a good laugh this morning. I thought I'd discovered a misprint in the instructions for our our state income tax booklet and called Little Rock to check. When I asked the rep if there was an error on page so-and-so, she immediately said "No" (very firmly).
As it later turned out, she was right, but...well, it's government...and naturally a grain of salt is in order. Wishing to explore further, I said "Well, are you sure, because --" only to be cut me off mid-sentence with this: "Sir! There's no mistake. It's correct." Giving it another shot, I as far as "But..." when she ended the argument with this definitive and final declaration "Sir! It's PRINTED IN THE BOOK!"
Helpless against such towering, unassailable logic, I threw in the towel and hung up.
