Military Reservist who was activated

A military reservist who has been activated wants to claim the miles to the active duty job as a temporary work location. He had a regular job which he had to leave when he was activated. Now he travels to the active duty job which is approximately 40 miles from his regular main home. Does this qualify as a temporary work assignment as long as it lasts less than a year?
