Suggest for The TaxBook for next year

These updates that are available to replace the pages in the current editions are great.

    Very helpful.

However, it would be easier to handle if The TaxBook was offered in a 3-ring binder. We could print the updates off the internet, like we do now, and then remove the page/pages that are being replaced.

Would you be willing to receive a 3 ring binder with the pages separately wrapped for you to fill the binder?

3 ring binders that get a lot of use have a tendency to fail. But on the other hand, generally it is used for 1 year or less and sits on a shelf for many years after with minimal use.

      Might be helpful, but

I find it pretty easy to print the page, then trim it down to about 10" x 7-1/2", and tape it over the existing printed info with a strip of tape at the top and one at bottom. That way I have the new info but can peek back at the original to see what changed. In some rare situations, that's useful info. Each page has adequate margins for doing this. When there is only a single item or two changed on the page, I just take a red pen and enter the same info in my Tax Book without bothering to replace the page.

        3 ring binders awkward

I find 3 ring binders awkward to handle.

I think you have a fantastic product and like being able to tape in the udates.

W/ the other company I like the "pocket" at the very end of the book. I find it helpful to tuck info from other sources in this pocket and it's not falling out of the book all of the time.

              I like the CD

I like the CD too, but now that I've printed off the updates & taped them to it, I can't get it to fit in my computer drive.

                I would prefer

a three ring binder format too and failing that I at least want the book exclusive of the binding to be larger than a standard sheet of paper because I do not think I should have to trim my page to fit. However for the three ring binder format to work I would need the holes reinforced with metal and I would need replacement pages printed by the company and mailed to me. It would be convenient if they were also available on the website for downloading and printing of temporary pages. Then the mailings could be done monthly instead of whenever a new page was done. I realize the book price would go up and I would pay double for such a book. If the book format is the same next year I will order only the web cd and the All States book.

If the offer to refund purchase prices on the printed books is still good I would like the address to mail in the front pages of my books. I am that tired of dealing with the current update system.

I order both the books and the Web CD. I don't plan on updating the books because I use the Web CD mostly. But I do use the books for quick lookup to find the area of interest and do my final search on the Web CD because I know that it is most current.

The Web CD gives me a lot of versatility to copy/past or print as needed. The books slows me down when I'm busy.

I'm a one man show and don't travel to any clients, so other may have different needs.

Anything is possible, for a price. If the Deluxe book in comb bound format with free website updates is sold for around $65, then how much would you pay to have it in a 3 ring binder with replacement pages mailed every so often?

I wouldn't mind paying more for a 3-ring binder. However, the updates can come like they are now. I can print and punch my own holes.

                          Is doing both impracticle

Clearly 50% like the book as is and 50% would like a 3 ring binder. Quite franklly if you printed the pages for a 3 ring binder and shipped them I would go to Staples or Office Max and buy a binder. This would save money for everyone. I see no need to mail updates. You publish updates on the web site. We print them out and use a 3 hole paper punch to ready them for the binder.

I like this idea. Then I can buy my own 3 ring binder with my own file pockets or add in any other info as I wish.

I would want the 1040 Book and the Business Book and the All States Book with replacement pages mailed every so often and the pages reinforced with metal reinforcement. (I would also prefer pages of paper to the plastic currently used.) For all that I would pay $300 in total but I might economize and not buy the CD unless its price came way down like to under $15.

I appreciate TTB's willingness to even consider the matter. It would be so easy for management to simply assume that they know what can and cannot be produced and sold at a profit.
