    Spouse is non resident alien

    Client is from the Congo and holds dual citizenship. He married a woman from the Congo in 2007. She has no SSN or ITIN and has never been in the USA although they lived together in the Congo for part of the year. She is full time student and had no income in 2007.

    Is my only choice to file him as MFS claiming exemption for non resident alien spouse? The return won't e-file but otherwise seems okay.
    In other words, a democratic government is the only one in which those who vote for a tax can escape the obligation to pay it.
