When the w2 is mailed to the IRS etc. do they have to be red or is laser printed on white paper ok?

When I print them for clients through QuickBooks the Social Security copy is black & white. I've never had a problem with it.

SSA Copy

Laser printer with white paper is permitted for submittal to SSA. Must be laser printer however, as I believe it has something to do with them scanning the forms.

You don't send W-2's to the IRS.

You send them to SSA. See the address on the W-2.

Laser printed in black in on white paper for Copy A is OK with SSA.
