    Self Prepared

Self Prepared returns are a "hoot"

I have seen a few, and also represented a few when they received the CP 2000 letter.

Target areas, are charitable contribution deductions employee business expense deductions, some are even bold enough on taxes and interest deductions.

That bottom line number showing "refund" really drives some people to go back and adjust their computer entries!

If IRS and FTB or other State Agencies did nothing more than target audits to "self prepared returns" they would really increase their tax revenues.

Well, if all they audited was self prepared returns, then they wouldn't get our 'friends' at JH in SC or Wesley Snipes...

The EBE audits are a nightmare. Imagine trying to explain 'tax home' to someone deducting his 'travel' expenses because he works far from his home, renting an apartment during the week, because, 'his family didn't want to move'.
