Strange Return Materials

Received a large brown envelope in the mail today. It had documents for a 2006 return sent by an individual I had written off after a telephone visit I had with him back last March. He is due a refund and why did he wait so late to have his return done. A check is enclosed for the fee I quote him. Guess I will never know why he waited so long.
Guess I will never understand some people. Merry Christmas and have a successful and happy new year.

Yes, did one last week that had over $5K refund (non-EIC). Now that it's so late, must be paper and an additional delay for refund.

Possible Marital Problems

Chief and ECB - there is probably a reason for their delay. There could be marital problems creating delays such as filing status, claiming of dependents, etc. I remember a situation a few years ago where one of the lawyers was recommending to the taxpayers that they hold off filing until "this thing or that thing" was finalized.
