You say "Soliman was overturned". This was the entire point of Soliman. He didn't care about his little home office deduction, he wanted the driving. after the Court took his driving away the congress changed the law to give it back. Unfortunately not ex post facto.

The home office qualifications changed years ago. A tradesman who has no other place to perform managerial duties may have a home office. Mileage from allowable home office is deductible.
