    Standard Versus Actual

Is it OK to have two vehicles on actual cost and one on standard for a self employed person?

Taxes were rough one year and the taxpayer did a hefty 179 deduction on a cargo van and has been actual expense for that cargo van ever since.

A few years later he bought a small car to run around town in and claimed standard miles. Are there are rules against have two actual and one standard?

No vehciel has ever switched from standard to actual.

    Mahalo,

As long as it otherwise qualifies you can choose on a per car basis.

You can switch on the same car as long as you started out with standard and you use SL when you switch.
