I purchased it last year. I liked it, but my clients could care less. I did it for 4 of my biggest clients and mailed it to them. Hoping that they would call me to ask question, they didn't. As a matter of fact, they were just not interested.

I forgot what the price was, $150 or $250, but I guess it should be presented in person at a scheduled meeting to be effective. Would I say don't get it, no. All I can say is, if it is for a small business where all the funds never make it into their account, it is useless.

What I did not like was their constant recomendations about getting financing. I took those paragraphs out.

I agree with Bob 100%. My clients thought it was a waste of time (most likely because they don't report all of their income?). They didn't see any real applications for the info presented. I believe the info would be of great value to a business that does things right.

In this case the poster may wish he never posted the question..........., if it was a sales post.

          Censorship

It looks to me as though TTB is afraid of competition. Of course it's their site and of course that means they get to decide what goes here, but my admiration for them has just taken a nose dive. I think that I will look for another bulletin board for ideas on what products to purchase, and I wish I had not just ordered the books for next year.

            Sorry for posting link

Sorry for posting the link, I was not warned of the rule when I registered, I merely wanted to provide a reference for my post. However, I am not sure as to why the entire post was deleted if the disputed content was only the link...I assumed it was okay to ask about other products as there was another post about said product previously and it received no censorship. I joined hoping that I could help others as well as learn a bit for myself, which also includes making wise investing decisions. I appreciate your feedback BOB W, I remember you were involved in the post from last year...I suppose I am a bit disheartened that it didn't work for you as I really liked it, but maybe it is too good to be true. Do you have recommendations for other avenues I can take to enhance the value of my services or should I just keep it simple and stick with what I am doing now?

I think what Brad did was proper. This particular post was not TTB's competion and first time posters, in the past, have been problem. Regular posters have and do post URLs all the time for the benefit of board participants. Please rethink you post as it has never been the TTB's posistion to delete URLs except in first time posters.

Stick around and participate on a regular basis, then you can qualify as a regular. I'm a regular when it come to snooping and post occasionally. Being a snooper is good but posting and sharing is better.

Additional products is a big subject> do you give your client monthly financial statement?

Go get securities licensed and insurance licensed it will increase your level of knowledge therefore increasing the value of your service to your clients, in kind increasing your profitability.

Don't think it is personal, in fact we'd love to have you, especially if you read the tax code.

Being an internet forum, I'm sure the moderators want to avoid commercialization from folks who register just to advertise with a link. The board would become like the shopper supplement in the Sunday newspaper. I seriously doubt it has anything to do with competition, as the flyers I get from TTB are anxious to compare with competition every chance they get.

Stick around - this is a good forum for tax matters. And we DO discuss products, in particular tax software and seminars. I hope you can understand their policy is aimed at keeping the board free of what we don't want, even if there are some well-meaning entries.

OK Bob saw OP and says it was not competition for TTB so I'll take that as a given. I will also take as a given that in the past new participants have posted things that were problematic. I would still prefer that links be evaluated on an individual basis. There could also be some process by which management identifies people before letting them post. I realize that I am asking for at least one TTB employee with considerable tax knowledge to work full time on the site. But that's what I want. TTB doesn't have to do what I want with their site and what they intend to do is pretty clear. I have not made up my mind how much time to spend here in the future but I am certainly going to look for alternatives. Right now I am angry and anger is not a good state for decision making. I still wish I had not ordered my books for next season.

As has been noted, we have had problems with people using our Message Board not for discussion of tax issues, but for advertising and generating traffic to other websites. This is the internet folks. We've removed some pretty repulsive things before many had a chance to view. It's unlikely anyone would be clamoring for unrestricted access to all posts if you saw some of the things we've "censored."

This is not to say the link in question was anything other than legitimiate. We welcome the new participant and his or her ideas and comments. We ask for understanding in our attempts to keep the tone and content of discussions under control.

We appreciate the particpants' cooperation in helping maintain the exceptionally high quality of discussions in this forum.

I certainly wasn't asking for open access. I am well aware of what that would bring. Anyway I will get off my high horse here if someone will private message me the link.

you sent me an email on the site rather than a private message on the site. However, I am still officially and publicly dismounting my high horse and calming down. Actually I used self talk techniques I learned in Therapy to calm down before I opened your email. But seriously thank you for the information.
