    Update on IRS Surprise Visit

See previous post for beginning details.

My client contacted the IRS the day after the note was left on the door. He set an appointment for yesterday, Tuesday. He met with the agent. She prepared the 3rd Quarter payroll report for 2006 and the 2006 FUTA report. When he was reviewing information before going to meeting, he found that his draws was included in the 2nd quarter report. He is a Schedule C client, so he overpaid SS/MC. The agent adjusted the reports. I am going to talk to him in the next few days for more details.

Seems strange that the IRS did this without sending out some kind of notice, many notices. Are you sure that your client didn't get many notices?

I agree, but when I asked the client, he denied receiving any notices, but with the next sentence, he said, you know my record keeping is not the best.
