That sounds like a term used in countries other than the U.S. Are you talking about taxation in a different country, or U.S.?

      VAT maybe?

I think he's looking for software related to claiming VAT tax refunds in the UK, Europe, Canada, and other far away places.

I heard that firms like kpmg,ernst-young,price water, deloitte etc provide this service. But I want to know if this (tax reclamation) can be done using any tax softwares...

I suppose you are not getting much response.

because this "tax reclaim" term is unusual. A google search hints that this is a term more often used in non-US situations. (for instance, the UK)

If you are talking about US "tax refunds" then maybe we can help.

Since "tax reclaim" is used frequently in other countries but is not a term familiar to US tax preparers, it would be helpful if you would define what a 'tax reclaim' is. Most of us are familiar with 'tax refunds' and amending tax returns to 'reclaim' overpaid tax, but terminology can often relate to something very specific in meaning. There may very well be something in the US called a tax reclaim but it is not something we encounter in our non-Big 4 practices.

Tax Reclaims (refunds) may involve more than VAT from what I have been reading. Right now I am reading an article involving 'U.S. investor in foreign securities, taxes are withheld from dividend and interest payments by the paying agent in the foreign country on behalf of the local tax regulatory authority'.

If your dealing with different countries, you may need a separate software package, if you can find one, for each country of interest.

Here is another web site with information about Tax Reclaims.

Here is a couple of web sites that may have information on software.

I think you may be looking for highly specialized software that the likes of KPMG, et al, and global financial institutions may specialize.
