I have a new client that married a Filipina in November 2006. She is still in the Phillipines.

Can he file MFJ? She does not have an SSN.

CPR I believe the answer is "yes." However the Filipino wife must also include HER income in U S dollars, regardless of where on earth it came from.

There are better authorities than myself on this, and I hope others will post. But I believe the above is true as a general statement.

You'll have to get ITIN for wife. Application can go with return to Phila office. Check publication 17, tax book. In other words the return has to be mailed.
