An earlier post delt with Form 8829 and original signatures. What about Form 8853? Can a signed form that has been faxed to me be sent to IRS or is an original, client signature required?

That last sentence is a tad amibiguous, as it doesn't specify 100% exactly that it's the the faxed form they want mailed. An alternative interpretation could be that it's okay to transmit with a fax and they want the original mailed later, but I suppose the reasonable conclusion is that they're saying mail the faxed copy. -

Once again Black Bart has stepped to the forefront with great perspicuity. As always, I appreciate his wise leadership and agree with and support him completely. The only point of the 8453 is as a cover sheet for other documents which are all copies themselves anyway.
Just don't use one of those old faxes with the weird paper.Comment
