    New DAY

Well back to the everyday grind. Work on payroll reports and monthly writeups. Then start on extended returns.

I have vowed this year not to wait until August to finish up extensions. It screws up my summer, causes stress when I want to relax.

Same here. A few payrolls today, meet with a client re and amended 2005 return...somehting about not reporting 1099-B transactions on the original return.

Then, about 25 property tax statements for the county, and by the time I'm finished with this it will be cocktail time.

I have vowed too, to finish everything I have before taking a rest. Let's see how this will work out. Of course I won't work overtime anymore.

Well, I finished my payrolls, and prepared the 2005 1040X. However, because of the interruptions it'll take me another day to complete the business property tax statements. Oh well.

George agreed with me to not worry about tax returns during the summer, except I plan on getting it done before summer and he will worry about it after Oct 1. It sounded like a joke to me.

                  Well

I am with you and other posters, I want all of these tax returns done pre-summer! so I am on a major push with all clients for them to furnish the info. 2005 filings on extension were awful and had to work and complete one on a 12:00 midnight deadline on 10/17/06.

I AM NOT DOING THAT AGAIN!

So here is to all of us trying to accomplish what needs to be done no later than 7/1/07.

Made some good headway today and managed to produce sales tax quarter reports and payroll reports on my biggest client. 2006 isn't done yet, but t/p out of US until 5/2/07.

So on to the next one for Thursday!

                  Sandy

                    Smiley face

                    Bob,

Hope you know I was joking, also! First time this week something funny made me laugh.

My extensions usually wait until 10/1 to make it in. Good idea for lighting a fire under them to get in long, long before.

The spring weather here in the northeast has been horrid. This weekend will be the first days that it will get into the 60's and sunny, still dropping into the high 30's at night. Since I can't work outside I'm pushing to get as much as I can done before the weather changes my mind. But I will remain steadfast in my drive to get ALL done and will be pushing clients to get additional info in.

Grrrrrrr, get mad, kick A**, nose to the grindstone, stay focused, push hard, etc........

About this time of the year I work at least 4-5 hours a day, usually 11am to 3pm, but it is focused hours. I don't want to burn myself out pushing too hard.

Yes Bob W you are having "horrid" weather, we watch frequently on the weather channel.

I think we should "all" make a "pact" that we pester the life out of our clients for information, so we can have all of these "extension" returns completed come summer! 11AM - 3PM each day should work! All focused hours!

I am tired of doing returns in October!

                            I agree

I told myself I would work on through until I got everyone done.

Problem is, my brain did not cooperate and I ended up taking Wednesday & Thursday off. I feel much better now.

So now I'm back, feeling a bit refreshed and once I get my payroll returns out, will proceed to get the rest of my tax backlog out.
