    1099Misc box 6

Client received $42,738 from workmans comp for taking care of her husband
that was hurt as a roofer.

The Workmans comp company sent her a 1099Misc and input the amount in box 6 as medical and health care payments.

Does anyone know if this should be reported as income?

    Yes,

appearently his wife is a RN, so the income needs to be reported.

      She is not a RN.

In fact she hasn't even filed any wages on her behalf in the last few years. Since she is not in the business for taking care of people it has got me wondering what I need to do.

        This does not make

any sense to me. Have you talked to the issuer? Many times my clients lack the first idea why they received money. Some don't even seem to know what they received - and I am not counting those who in my opinion know exactly what they received but do not wish to report all of it.
