    Ambulance people and per diem

Are ambulance drivers who stay overnight at the ambulance bay eligible for the meal per diem? Taxpayer called said his buddy's "people" gave him $25 per night, and he wanted it too. Of course, he hadn't told me that he stayed overnight, hard to read people's minds.
Not sure where the $25 came from, wouldn't it be $39?

Of course these are the same people that told his buddy that he could put $400 for charitable contributions, whether he gave or not. After all "everyone does it." :-)
Only in government or politics is a "cut in spending" really an increase. It's just not as much of an increase as they wanted it to be, therefore a "cut".

Only if they share with the firefighters at the station next door.

THanks for the imput. It didn't seem logical, but who said taxes had anything to do with logic. Does anyone know of anything in writing that would pertain to this, some people have to be shown not just told.

They fall under the same requirements as all other out of town, overnight travel. They are not out of town. So just show them the requirements for per diem that apply to out of town travel.

Read page 8-10 bottom left TTB.

Then tell him his friends are incorrect.
