Sometimes clients think we're too busy to take on new work. Let them know you are not.
Let the people that you come in contact with, at your place of worship, if any, or at meetings of any community organizations that you may belong to, that you are in the tax business.
Look into buying out the practice of a retiring tax preparer. It is certainly helpful in this regard, if you belong to a local group of tax professionals. NAEA, NATP, etc.
