    Student gets a 1099 for grant from choctaw nation of Oklahoma. 1,000.oo in box 3

    Must student file and show this or is it o.k. since he has no other income.

          then he would be required to file?

              1099

              I called the # on 1099 and they said it was a tuition payment. It is listed in box 3 other income. The student is a dependent of another, any help on how this should be handled?
