Reporting wages earned in S.Korea - without a foreign W2

    Hi,
I have a client who has wages earned in South Korea and no wage statement other than a paystub. This is going to be a paper return in this case but what should I send to document the S.Korean earnings - if anything?

I have a W2 for US earnings so no problem there and the Form 1116 all set to go. Knowing what he made and paid is not the problem.

    My thanks in advance.

You'll want to review Form 2555 and the instructions. This is somewhat complicated if you haven't done it before. You don't need to attach anything to your clients tax return documenting the foreign income. I believe in most case you only attach a W-2 to a return to document withholding tax, not to document the income.
