A 25 year old mexican man, married to a US teacher, has lived in US every since he was a small boy. Upon advise of attorney, he traveled flew back to Mexico in August of 2006 to stay one year so he can gain legal status here in the US. He has file income returns since he was 18 and has W-2 income for 2006. I consider Louisville, Ky to be his home tax base. He has his ITIN number. What portion, if any, of his travel expenses to Mexico are deductible?
