I would start with the manufacturer. I can't believe they would sell a dealership without making sure it is run in a business-like manner. They probably have tons of help, complete accounting templates and referrals to qualified advisors. Another party with an acute interest in the books is the bank, because car dealers need some very unique and fragile financing.
