Checks written to donee out of joint checking are they listed 50/50 to "taxpayer" and "spouse" on Sched A of 709 regardless of which spouse signed the check? Assuming of course that they are consenting to "splitting". Acheck written from the husband's brokerage account would be listed as 'taxpayer" gift 100%.

I think it would depend on the intent of the giver. If husband made out a check from joint
account to his daughter without consulting wife, then it's clear.
If both intended the gift, then it's split.
However, not sure about how it might be in a "communist" type state like
Arizona or California; or Loosana.ChEAr$,
