Wisconsin Preparers

Are any of you Wisconsin preparers finding refunds incredibly slow this year? I'm trying to figure out if it is something that I am doing or is it my software or what!?! I can't get through to the State - on hold forever and no answer by email.

When I check the individual returns it says the return is being processed and processing could take up to 12 weeks. UGH!

That generally happen with returns with "issues" I believe it means a return is pulled by an actual human to review before the refund is released. It mostly happens with EIC returns with three children and refunds over $1000. Those have routinely taken a week longer. This year they appear even slower.

Finally was able to talk to an agent this morning. Apparently the new system is really critical concerning the Township/County/School district matching records from another system from another department. Because our zipcode spans two counties many are being "flagged" for review.

I haven't received any calls from clients wondering where their Wisconsin refunds are, so I think things are going smoothly.
