Client rec'd sizeable non-taxble settlement for physical injuries rec'd in an auto accident in 2006.
Are the med expenses she has paid personally for these injuries, net of her insurance pmts,alowed as itemized deducts?

Anything in excess of insurance reimbursements is deductible. If any of the settlement money is considered to be a reimbursement for specific medical expenses, the reimbursed expenses would likewise be non-deductible.
