    DFAS Form 705

    I have a client that received a from 705 - Certificate for Income Tax Adjustment for $4734.27. It says if it is over $3000 he could deduct the amount repaid as a miscellaneous deduction or use the amount to compute a credit against your tax. Where can I find info on this subject.? What kind of credit? Is the deduction only if he itemizes?
