    Per diem

    Client is a construction worker. He claims his former tax preparer gave him meals and incidental expenses deduction if he worked a 12 hour or longer shift even if he was in his home tax area. I have not found any support for that in my research. Anyone out there know about this?

    I'm with you...

    I don't see any justification for allowing a per diem in this case.

      I agree...

      Per Diem is for traveling, not for working 12 or more hours (or any amount of hours, for that matter).
      That's all I have to say ... for now.
