    Settlement Checks

    One of my clients is a worker for the state and he got injured on the job two years ago. He received last year a settlement check. Is this settlement check considered income?

      Type of Pay out

      Seems like if your t/p was injured on the Job, it would be a Worker's Comp settlement, which would be non taxable.

      You will need to obtain the documents from the t/p to determine the actual type of payout.
