    MN---MFS and MPR1

Have a client that will file MFS for 2006. She has a 2006 Certificate of Rent paid for the time prior to her marriage. Can she take the MPR1?

Also since she is filing MFS, is the household income limit for purposes of the MPR1 her income only or spouse plus hers??

    The M1PR

asks for "household" income. Even though she is filing MFS I'm guessing she did not live with with her "spouse to be" prior to her marriage. If she did, then I would include his income. If she did not live with him, then her income would be "household income" and then you would file the M1PR. If you efile the M1PR, make sure you fill out the CRP and include it. Email me if you have any further questions.
