Will you ever start shipping these books automatically? Other companies do this, and it is very convenient, for me not to remember to order my books annually.

There are some companies that automatically ship products without a request from the customer. Our company would never consider implementing such a program. We believe that customers find the practice intrusive and otherwise annoying.
We're comfortable competing for your business on a continuing basis. We'll spend our energy on trying to earn your long-term loyalty, instead of taking you for granted because you purchased a product once.

I'm one of those customers. I would rather be burdened by having to order rather than you keeping my credit card information on file like the "other" company does.

Auto-ship, no / e-mail, yes
I agree with the others above, except for the first "unregistered" poster. He/she may consider it a convenience and is certainly free to request the "service" from you.
In my view, it's an unwarranted and unwanted "high-pressure" sales tactic by aggressive, presumptuous companies who take it upon themselves to manage my affairs for me and, of course, I'd rather do that myself.
I think Paul is absolutely right about this.
P.S. I once worked for a company who received (if you can believe it) a fire-extinguisher in the mail from a company that operated in this manner. We had bought one the previous year. Needless to say, that was the last thing ever purchased from that company.

McAfee Security
Yes, this very tactic is what caused me to switch from McAfee to Norton. In order to renew with McAfee in 2004, I had to agree for McAfee to automatically charge my debit card in every successive year. When I searched for options to this arrangement, I found out there were none.
Thus McAfee lost one customer. They have millions more, but I'm hoping many of them feel the same way I do.

Ordering
I agree with Paul on this as well. If you have a quality product, you should not have to force it on anyone by having automatic ordering. I like the email reminder idea, and I am sure the Tax Book editors would not flood us with email like some other companies do once they get you on a mailing list.

my opinion
I really, really, don't like to have to return things, nor do I like to have things that I have not ordered sent to me.
I do like email for everything. I prefer it over receiving mail and I really dislike sales phone calls. It even annoys me when my phone company calls trying to change my phone service.
Just my opinion.
