    I agree with filing the last 6 years.

    I have had a few of these multi year late return clients. It's important to know if the service has filed subsitute returns. In one case I had to file back 10 years of returns where the IRS had filed the subsitute returns. In another case I had only information for 3 years even though there were many more unfiled years. We filed the 3 and haven't heard form the IRS yet.
