    Dependents-Medical Expense

Grandparents, client, had their 2 grandchildren living with them all year. The kids mother
was in and out and contributed nothing to their support.
Grandparents are claiming them as dependents for 2006..
The 2 children were diagnosed with a reading disorder where all the letters of words
were all mixed up. Doctor recommended a special school for the 2 grandchildren.
Cost of the school was $3300. for the year 2006. Is this a medical expense for the grandparents?.
    Thanks

    Depends on the school

If the schooling is to relieve the child of a disability and this cannot be accomplished in a regular school, then yes it is qualifying for medical. Is the school a school for handicapped children?
