I am new at efiling but I am using the 8879 since I am not required to mail it to IRS.

Same reason. You don't have to mail anything to the IRS. You keep your signed copy of 8879 and w-2's.

        Makes life much simpler.

          Ditto

Form 8879 and the companion form for the State.

No more mailings and those letters in the mail that they didn't receive the 8453.

No postage expense, no "We didn't get its - Send copy". Simpler and easier

Only in government or politics is a "cut in spending" really an increase. It's just not as much of an increase as they wanted it to be, therefore a "cut".

              8453

The only time you use 8453 is if you have to send in information to the IRS. You can still e-file, but you must physically mail the information to the IRS.

Just haven't changed the settings in the software.

Unlike Black Bart, I hate going to the Post Office and standing in line. People think I am crazy old man for talkiing to strangers. You old have to retain the copies for three years. Haven't had the guts to go paperless yet. I use the 8879 except when something has to be mailed.

Move out of that big town to Podunk Junction. There aren't any lines and I already know half the people I run into.

You can't go home again. I believe the author is correct.

I once heard a New York celebrity (immersed, I suppose, in the surrounding theaters, art, galleries, museums, etc.) quoted: "I wouldn't want to live anyplace where the only cultural advantage is that you can make a right turn on red."
