    If I were King

I would do away with the EIC completely.

Your turn now. What would you do if you were king?

    Enact the Fair Tax.

Yeah, that sounds crazy coming from a tax preparer. But, this would open a great deal of opportunity for those who could focus on sales tax returns and would release government from their ability to manipulate American spending patterns through tax regulation.

      If I.....

...... were King I would abolish all income tax filing and have each of my ex-clients send me a $200 check once a year.

        If I were King. EIC

Abolish it from Income tax system, it belongs in some other department.

          Fair Tax

I still think "The Fair Tax" is best.

            If I were queen

and no king would interfere with my wishes

I would develop a system where everyone has what he/she needs and where everyone would be able to develop his/hers strength to the degree ability allows and everyone would just be of service for the common good.

No taxes, no tax preparers, no wars, no hunger, no hate....

I agree with you everything you said BUT there would be a lot of tax preparers out there without a job. (and we would not have this board) That would be sad.

So you would agree with Hillary Clinton's statement, "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need"?

                  This Socialism was

actually used in the first year of the settlers in this country.
After the second year, however, when some people worked hard, and some just loafed
and lived off what the others produced, it was changed.
Each person worked and kept what they produced and sold the excess.
That was the way it stayed until.

Maybe, maybe not but I don't think so, since I believe we have all the same strength and the same need. We just have different abilities and different willingness to serve. The problem/blessing is not being rich or being poor but our attitudes.

I really don't know what you just said. But, I will tell you that Hillary Clinton didn't say that, Karl Marx did. It is in The Communist Manifesto, the baseline for all current socialist thought.

                        Wake County, NC

                        Josh,

Is Wake County the county where Currituck Lighthouse is located?

If so, did the county officials ever stop trying to take it from the group that reworked it, made it a successful tourist attraction and ran it?

                        LT
Only in government or politics is a "cut in spending" really an increase. It's just not as much of an increase as they wanted it to be, therefore a "cut".

No, the Currituck lighthouse is in Currituck County.

Wake County is the county where Raleigh is, about 100 miles from the coast.

I'm not aware of the particular's with the lighthouse that you are referring to. Do you have some info that I could review and then I would be willing to discuss?

That doesn't mean Hillary didn't say it also.

                              1913 tax return

I'm sitting here looking at the first 1040 form from 1913. One form fits all, no EIC no AMT. Why not adopt this long lost child and start all over again?
