When busy they want to be a part

Have you noticed that when things really get so busy that there is barely time to finish one thing before another pops up? Have you noticed that is when they come out of the woodwork to see how you're doing.

Example: "Can you tell me why my nephew get such a large refund?"

    "I really have no idea"

"He makes thus and so and he says he always gets money back, thousands of dollars."

I start to explain EIC and instead say "I'm sorry I can't do his tax return on the phone with or without any information"

Another caller says "they" didn't put on the paperwork withholding on a pension distribution. I ask if she actually has the 1099R yet and maybe it is still coming. For the next 5 minutes she looks for the paperwork keeping me holding on the phone. (Another questions I will not ask - do you have.)

The really strange thing is these people are not clients, just thought they'd call and see how I was doing.

Not that I meant to, but now I've wasted your time listening to nothing!

    I wasn't doing anything anyway.

I've already had several call and ask "Are you busy right now? I have a question about..."
